Brazil remains invincible at the end of the first weekend of the Grand Prix.
Brazil beat Thailand on Sunday by 3 sets to 0 and finished the first weekend of the competition unbeaten.
First set was very tight, with the asians a little bit better with a good defense and smart decisions on offense while Brazil struggles to knock the ball down. The thai were (21x19) on the scoreboard when Fe Garay gone to the serve. With 2 aces she opened the way to the brazilians seal the victory in the first set by 25X23.
After a tough first set, Brazil found the best way to play and gave no chances to Thailand, closing the following sets in 25x18 and 25x13.
Juciely was the top scorer of the match with 15 points, followed by Gabi with 13 and Fe Garay with 10. For the hostess, Pleumjit Thinkaow scored seven points.
With the win, Brazil ended the first weekend of the Grand Prix with 9 points and the lead in Group A, followed by Japan with 6, Thailand 2 and Serbia 1.
The yellow and green landed in Sao Paulo on Monday where they will prepare for the games of the second Grand Prix weekend. At this stage, from 10 to 12 July, the Brazilian Team faces Belgium, Thailand and Germany, in the Ibirapuera Gymnasium, in São Paulo-SP.
